Gavin's Birthday

Jackson's good friend, Gavin, had his 3rd birthday celebration at his home this weekend - complete with a bounce house and a rockin' dinosaur theme. I am SO doing a party at home next year! A great time was had by all...I'm not sure who had more fun, the birthday boy or my little jumping bean, Jackson.

A Day at the Zoo

My friend Shannon and I took Jackson to the Cameron Zoo today in Waco. I had been there once before with Jackson, but he was too little to really enjoy it. He absolutely loved it this time around and we had the perfect day for it too - overcast and cool. Last time we went, we were in full sun and it was miserably hot -I think that might have been part of the reason Jackson wasn't interested.

Anyway, this time we spent the whole day there and Jackson just loved seeing all of the animals. He told Shannon and I everything he knew about them! His favorite part of our visit was seeing "the mommy elephant poop" ...that about sums it up. A wonderful way to spend the day with my favorite boy on the planet.

We try to have Sunday morning playdates at Jungle Java with Gavin and his Mommy every few weeks or so. The boys get to run around and play while the mommies catch up over coffee- when we're not chasing after our boys, that is. Playtime is usually followed up with lunch at McDonalds and more running and climbing in McPlayland.

For the two or three of you that actually read this blog,

You may have noticed that I haven't posted in quite sometime. Well, I'm ashamed to say I've fallen victim to Facebook and have spent countless hours doing....I'm not exactly sure what....on its site.

Anyway, I like FB and all, but I use this blog to journal about Jackson's life - his milestones, his funny little sayings, his friends, family and activities. I plan on letting these entries serve as his 'baby book' and I feel as though I've been cheating on his blog with Facebook.

So, really the only reason for this post is to tell my dedicated readers (ie, Kim) that I will start posting again and to please scroll down several pages as there are months and months of old entries scattered in among some of the more recent ones. I'm working on getting caught up, hopefully I'll be done soon. (Famous last words)

Introducing Audrey

Jackson has known lil' Miss Audrey since she was just a gleam in her mama's eye...but now she's old enough for Jackson to take a real interest in her. And interested in her, he most certainly is... he loves their playdates and can often be found "putting the moves on" Audrey:

Its a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

...at least according to Jackson!

I took him for a picnic lunch at our neighborhood park today and he told me the following (several times, actually) : "Its a very nice day today, Mommy. The birds are singing, (the) sky is blue, (the) trees are green...its a very, very nice day."

Happily, the photos I took of him today actually reflect his very sweet disposition.
